Uncanny County

Since season two just came out for Uncanny County I thought I would Talk about it.
Uncanny County is a Audio Drama Anthology created by Todd Faulkner and Allison Crane. And it is amazing. Drawing a lot of inspiration from radio theater,(they even have a episode with Orsen Welles). Uncanny County reaches just over the state line to the Twilight Zone. Some episodes like "Home is where the spice is" and "A thing for machines" draw heavily on 70's B-movies. While others Like "Mother loves you" and "Coulrophobia" are straight up horror. No matter what genre the stories are playing the episodes bring sarcasm, wit, and just the slight amount of ridiculous to it.

The way that uncanny county is written is a distinctive, like a more realistic Twilight Zone. Its at times nearly absurd but the characters are more likely to point out the craziness of the situation and move around it then go the monsters are due on maple street.

If you like and remember old pulpy radio dramas or enjoyed the working of Rod Sterling's Twilight Zone then you will differently Enjoy Uncanny County. And even if you were never one for the uncanny or weird try it anyway. Uncanny County brings a slice of life approach to the weird. Its a good listen for a car ride or a morning jog, light and self contained while still giving a interesting story. Differently one of the best in the audio drama format and one that I will drop what I'm doing to listen to.

Oh, and make sure to say hello to the New deputy its his first day.
